Thank you for your years of continued support.

I am going on a hiatus. There is a cause that requires my efforts, that requires me to pour my heart and soul into it because it is the right thing to do. I don't want to keep you hanging while I try to be in two places at once, so I must step away from my music career for a short time.

Rest assured, the last song of "The Letters of Dr. Kurt Gšdel" is on the way, but it may be a few weeks before I am able to finish it. I ask that in my absence, you continue to discover new music that moves you, music that matters to you. And when that music stirs you to action, I ask that you not fight that urge to chase after what you know to be right, even if it is at a great personal cost. Live a life worth remembering.

Tour Blog / A Few Reviews and Interviews

it’s good for me to get out on the road once in awhile. it reminds me why i do what i do. this weekend was a full one – we hit cincinnati on friday night at Kaldi’s, and learned that while Nashville is on Central time, Cincinnati is not. So when we were supposed to be showing up at 8:30 for a 9:30 show…. instead of getting there 53 minutes before i was supposed to go on, i waltzed through the door at 9:37.whoops.

at any rate, there were a lot of friendly faces there, and it was nice to get a show under my belt that felt good again. The last few have been on the shoddy side, i’ve felt, so a good one was needed.

Saturday night was Pontiac, and what a fun time. If you haven’t been to the Crofoot yet, I recommend it. It’s great. While waiting for the show to start, some friends of mine drew elephants on their hands… I decided to join the fun by drawing a poacher on mine:

(the part where i appear to be jumping on them, i am playing my new ivory piano. made from poached hand-elephant-ivory.)

Elizabethtown was amazing, and a little surreal. First of all, the Backstage Cafe is just the coolest place ever. I’m playing there again on March 28th, and even if it involves a road trip, you should come support the coolest independent music venue in town. After the set was done, there were public readings of my blog, and i even did a tune on their piano. it was the most laid-back, songwriter-friendly venue i’ve been to in a long time.

All in all, I love touring. even little weekend tours. And I can’t wait til i get to go back on the road again.

REVIEWS/INTERVIEWS
The Mag

This is my first one from the UK since the new album came out. It’s an interview; not a review. So if you’re tired of hearing me talk about me, skip this one, but there are some interesting facts & stuff, so worth a read if that interests you. Thanks to Haydon (from the band FreeSlave) for catching up with me to do this one.

World On The Web

I think I may already have mentioned this one. Thanks to David Sessions for this write-up, which I felt summed it up pretty much almost exactly like I would have, had I not made the album myself.

Bittersweet Blue

From the guy who called Family Feud an “ill-advised narrative on southern violence”. I guess the allegory *is* kind of difficult to ascertain, so taken at face value, I can see that. For the record though, it is an allegory.

–Jon’s bloggin’ about it.

Cincinnati CityBeat – The concert was last weekend, but there are some quotes and stuff in the article. I’m listed with Band of Horses and De Novo Dahl, so life could definitely be worse.

and that’s all for now. If you see any more floating around, or if you want to review the album yourself, hit it.
